A fantasy-style NBA All-Star digital experience for fans.

ESPN created an interactive experience that allows users to step into the role of an NBA All-Star captain and draft their own team. The experience mirrors the NBA’s real All-Star format, where top players are selected and captains draft teams “playground style” regardless of conference. The product combines elements of fantasy sports, simulation, and interactive storytelling to engage fans during All-Star Weekend.

Our team was tasked with making this experience easy for users to navigate. We drew inspiration from ESPN Fantasy apps, NBA 2K, and other game-based experiences to create an interface that felt competitive, immersive, and intuitive. The goal was to give users the feeling of being an NBA All-Star captain; strategically selecting a winning squad and experiencing the excitement of game-day decision making.
