Modernizing a legacy platform

Fanatics Collectibles acquired Topps and inherited several legacy platforms, including Topps Pro, a B2B portal used by hobby shops and distributors to purchase trading card products. Through user feedback and internal analysis, we learned that the existing platform was difficult to navigate and lacked key functionality needed for customers to effectively manage their purchases. Users struggled to browse products, place orders, and track shipments, and the portal did not provide a way for customers to contact account managers directly.

As a result, many customers relied on calls, texts, or email to communicate with admins and resolve issues. Additionally, the outdated interface and legacy infrastructure limited the platform’s ability to scale. To address these challenges, we rebuilt the platform into a new product, FC Pro, designed to provide a more modern and reliable purchasing experience for customers. This case study focuses on the customer-facing side of that portal redesign.
